About
Peak is a small team building the platform we wished we had when we ran our own brands.
Running a consumer-product brand is mostly logistics, mostly customer service, and mostly invisible to the customer when it works. The software for it is the opposite: loud, busy, and full of features no one asked for. We started Peak because the teams we worked on were stitching together five tools that all wanted to be the centre of the universe, and none of them were good at the boring parts. We are betting that brands would rather have one calm system that handles the boring parts well than five exciting ones that do not.
Hiring rubric, code review, and roadmap all reference these five.
If a button needs a tooltip to be understandable, the button is wrong, not the tooltip.
We pick proven technology and proven patterns. New is not a feature.
What we say in marketing is what is in the contract is what is in the code.
We would rather ship the right thing in eight weeks than the wrong thing in four.
Every quarter we remove features that have not earned their keep. Reduction is a release.
“We are not trying to be the loudest tool you ship with. We are trying to be the one that is still there in five years, doing exactly what it said.”
